NetKernel Highlights

NetKernel contains too many great features to mention here. The best way to find out all that is on offer is to download. However here a few highlights:

nCoDE Visual Composition

nCoDE is NetKernel's environment for visual composition of the many resource oriented building blocks provided. Composition truely lifts you above the API's and code enable click-fit composition of all of NetKernel's ready to use components, everything from RDF and Web technologies to database integration. nCoDE screen capture

Space Explorer

The Space Explorer is a pluggable framework with a rich ecosystem of views for exploring functionality and state within a NetKernel system. This tool is valuable in both development and deployment phases throughout the lifecycle of a system. It provides both tabular information and vector graphics that enable a complete understanding of any instance. Explorer screen capture

NetKernel Protocol

NetKernel Protocol seamlessly connects NetKernel instances create a true cloud. Just like Unix can mount a filesystem into its logical resource space, so NKP alllows NetKernel to "mount" an entire ROC address space from one machine to another. All of the services, code and resources of the remote machine are transparently available. But beyond Unix, the NKP protocol supports stateless one-shot client-server connections in a manner which generalizes from HTTP. In either case the full ROC address space scope is dynamically available - so the client can request the server, and within the scope of the request, the server can request the client (which is exactly the same as the local superstack inside a single NetKernel instance). And because the protocol consistently allows the ROC abstraction to span servers - then all the other benefits of ROC follow too - like coherent cache consistency between servers.

Time Machine Debugging

NetKernel's Visualizer tool can capture request processing in real time for future analysis. This much more powerful that a regular debugger that can only freeze a moment in time. A time machine debugger allows you to explorer backwards as well as forwards enabling a developer to much more rapidly discover cause and effect relationships. Every detail of execution is capture and best of all this has negligible impact on performance! Visualizer screen capture

"The thing I really find amazing about NetKernel is the amount of code we end up writing... or rather the lack of... we now spend most of the time structuring what our product needs to do and much less on actual coding."
